SEPTEMBER 22, 2005
Carmanah has been contracted by the US Army National Guard to supply 100 units of its A601 solar-powered LED helipad lights. These units were ordered to support Hurricane Katrina relief operations and will be installed at the Hammonds Airport, located just outside of Baton Rouge, LA.
Carmanah’s solar-powered LED airfield lights will assist the US Army National Guard with emergency troop transportation, humanitarian rescue operations, and the movement of food and emergency supplies. At the time of writing, there are more than 1000 aircraft operations daily at the Hammonds Airport alone.
The helipad lights were shipped to the US Army National Guard the day after they were ordered. Carmanah’s production and warehousing facilities are set up to provide its customers with the fastest turnaround times in the industry.
Carmanah’s solar LED technology provides the US Defense with quick-deploy, reliable, maintenance-free airfield lighting that is Night Vision Goggle (NVG) compatible and easy to install. More than 150,000 units are now installed in 110 countries. For more information about the Company’s unique airfield lighting products, please contact the Airports team.
